Info Sessions
You are invited to present an Info Session
The Pinellas Living Green Expo is currently accepting proposals for Info Sessions for the 2010 Expo, to be held June 5-6 at the St. Pete Coliseum. Info Session workshops are an integral part of the Expo experience.
Benefits of presenting
Presenters benefit from giving their message wide exposure, including access to thousands of visitors at the Expo, promotion on the Expo website, and a listing in the Expo program. Stipends are not available.
Focus of Expo Info Sessions
Pinellas Living Green Expo Info Sessions emphasize specific direct actions individuals can take on their own in order to build personal responsibility and develop a green marketplace. We are most interested in Info Sessions that build enthusiasm among attendees for sustainable living, rather than ones that overwhelm them with information about the unsustainability of the American lifestyle. In addition to pointing out the environmental benefits of the product, service, or approach, Info Sessions may also emphasize other benefits:
- saves money
- saves time
- is safer for personal health
- is just and humane
- is good for local economies
- add another bullet
Expo Info Sessions may touch on the negative environmental and social impacts of typical consumer products, services and behaviors, and on the need for citizen action to change the market and political barriers to growth of the green marketplace.
Info Sessions could include topics from composting to installing solar energy to alternative gift-giving to permaculture, just to name a few.
General Guidelines
Expo sponsors and accepted vendors have priority for workshop presenter applications.
